OBI Strips are a common place on Japanese records. They are a piece of flair of sorts, providing additional information and are typically visually intriguing. When Daybreak began they regularly had Japanese records to sell and this was seen as a big deal. There has been some research that claims the method they use for pressing records and the quality of the material (virgin vinyl) make it a premium product. As someone who has listened to a variety of musical genres on Japanese vinyl, I can attest to this.
As David over at Daybreak records started to see some of the Japanese records come in sans OBI strip, we decided to design a branded one for him to add to the previously OBI-naked records. The translations are included.
Promotional Poster
When Daybreak Records decided to venture into accessories, the first items were premium protective sleeves to protect each album. We created a consistent look that could be carried across all additional products and would stand out among competitors. The sleeves have ranked consistently in the top 5 within their category and have a rating of 4.6 out of 5 in the reviews.

The Daybreak records mark was created first and then the audiophile approved sister company came into play in order to sell vinyl record accessories.
