The Starkey Hearing Foundation travels the world to provide hearing aids to people in need. The majority of those hearing aids are refurbished donations from previous wearers. In an effort to rally people worldwide to donate their used hearing aids, I was tasked with creating this program from the ground up. The display box (in the acrylic box) was built to be self mailing to make it easier on the audiologist who displayed it in their office. The donator fills out a donation card and puts it and the hearing aid(s) in the plastic bag and eventually in the donation/display box. Once full, the flap on the box is closed and dropped in the mail. In the first year of the program we recycled over 70,000 hearing aids and that number has climbed over 850,000 since the year 2000.
